A Mother's Life and Advice on College

Describe what your life on campus was like:

*** a note: I grew up not knowing much about my mother's family. She and only one of her brothers moved to the U.S. from the Philippines and I never got to meet her parents properly (I'd assumed this was because they had passed away after I was born in the U.S.) instead I found out this rather different story. I'm privileged to have such an unstrained relationship with my mom, and though we talk frequently, this question opened my eyes to how often I forget that my mom was not always a mother. She too was once young with siblings and parents of her own.***
